People usually stay up to 2 hours (die-hard fans stay till we all drop with exhaustion!)
Costumes & Props
Most visitors have their best time getting into a costume - or 6 - and wielding various swords, bows, axes and other character props! And, they love their photo memories.
There’s over 25 fan-made adult-sized replica costumes (plus cool props!) - the full Fellowship, Arwen, Eowyn, Galadriel, Faramir, Bilbo, Black Rider … and Gollum! It’s fun even with 1 person but group sessions are uproarious! And it’s great for families too!
Fan Doco
People (especially fans) LOVE the Museum doco (~30 mins) which captures Wellington at its most exciting through the eyes of engaging fans. It’s professionally made and has had some rave reviews. It transports host and visitors together into the “zone” with amazing fan experiences, humour and haunting music.
Memorabilia
You’re surrounded by LOTR in this Museum! There’s heaps to see. We have treasures from the time of the premieres in 2001-2003, displays of action figures and even a few actual props from the movies (very rare!!).
Kids
There’s costumes and child-safe replica weapons for kids, we also have themed Lego, colouring-in, cards, books and games.
Group size
The Museum accommodates groups of up to 8-10. If you have a bigger group, talk to us because we can probably still make it happen.

You don’t need to be a LOTR fan to visit the Museum but LOTR fans say “It feels like home”, and “By fans, for fans”. We love that - we’ve created the museum we would want to visit!
