Seeing the future

I’ve always loved the Mirror of Galadriel - I love the idea of seeing …

things that were, and things that are, and things that yet may be. But which it is that he sees, even the wisest cannot tell

In our current world, would we have foreseen Covid?? A scouring of the Shire for sure.

Yesterday I helped my dear friend Rusty celebrate her birthday. A real treat, especially as my daughter shares the same birthday but I can’t be with her since she’s working in China.

During the celebrations we visited the lovely garden of another of our dear friends. Her garden includes her Mirror of Galadriel (although she doesn’t call it that). It was this same beautiful natural sculpture in her garden that inspired me to create a Mirror of my own in the front garden of The One Room Fan Museum.

I love having a Mirror, even though mine is inferior to hers, to the sculpture in the movies, and to the Mirror I imagine from the books.

And the Museum’s Mirror has now been loved by many beautiful Galadriels. These serene elven princesses, including Rusty herself, sought a window on the future when visiting the Museum. So fitting for Rusty, as she’s the talented artist who made the Museum’s so-popular Galadriel costume! Happy birthday dear friend, and happy birthday darling daughter.

Despite all that’s happening in the world I still have hope. I wish for all of us the wisdom to keep looking forward in hope. Best wishes, Kathy xx
